The Spur Maker

Okay, so I know it’s been way too long since I blogged last and I won’t bore you with my excuses. But, I’m getting serious – so get ready to see more of me around here! A few months ago, I had the opportunity to shoot a spur maker, Mike Richardson, from Sundown TX. I didn’t know what to expect going into this shoot – but this was way cool! There were lots of tools, lots of sparks, and lots and lots of talent. Enjoy!

And here’s what the final product looks like, after being worn for a few years…Those of you from Lubbock might recognize this as the 2011 KCBD Best of the West plaque image!

Brittany + Matt

Brittany and Matt got married a couple of weeks ago in Canyon, TX. Their wedding was beautiful– and so full of personal touches, I’m pretty sure at times during the ceremony there wasn’t a dry eye in the house (including mine–I’ve been known to cry about weddings on TV so theres no surprise there). The two of them were so excited beforehand and had a blast during their wedding. Thanks to Brittany, Matt and their families for letting me be a part of such a special day! Enjoy!

Brittany’s mom made her dress! WOW! It was beautiful and VERY detailed.

They didn’t want to see each other before the wedding so this is how we got them in the same picture, they were so excited!

First Friday

For the first time, I am going to be a part of the First Friday Art Trail. Here in Lubbock, down town businesses turn into art gallerys every first friday of the month to feature local artists. Hard Tops invited me to show this month and I am super excited about it!

The images I chose mostly fall into the broad “landscape” category. Some were shot with film (velvia 100) and some were shot digitally.

Hello everyone, welcome to my blog.

I’ve thought long and hard today about what would be an appropriate first blog topic. Obviously, I couldn’t pick just anything. I had to think of something that I care about and that would set an appropriate tone for my blog. So after much dileberation and consideration I have decided the topic of my blog will be…(drumroll please)….BAILEY! For those of you who don’t know, Bailey is my (and my boy friend’s) wonderful dog. She is a beagle, about a year and half old, and I just love her! I’ve also had several people offer to “take her of my hands” but I’m not falling for it, so don’t get any ideas people! Enjoy!
